Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

Objectives of ICC

The objectives of the Internal complaint committee to prevent sexual harassment of women at the workplace are as follows:

  • To develop a policy against sexual harassment of women at the Institute.

  • To ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures.

  • To uphold the commitment of the institute to provide an environment free of gender based discrimination.

  • To promote a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms.

  • To create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment.

  • To evolve a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender based violence at the Institute.

Composition

ICC has a membership of Seven persons, of which at least half the members are women. Chairperson of the committee is a woman faculty member.

Functions of the Committee

The role of the Committee is to create awareness about sexual harassment and to deal with and recommend punishment for non-consensual acts of sexual harassment, and not to curtail sexual expression within the campus.

Minutes of Meetings: A Short Summary

The Internal complaints cell organized two meetings in the beginning of the first term and end of the second term of the academic year respectively. The summary of meetings during the last five years is as follows.

The members discussed about the provisions in the Govt. Handbook on sexual harassments of womens released in Nov.2015

All the members presents agreed that to create awareness among both boys and girls about the provisions in the Handbook of Govt.

2022-23

Discussion about to creat environment in the college campus within boys and girls healthy and friendly relationship and team up together.

According to the discussion in the said meeting to organized various game and participated both boys and girls in co-curricular and extra- curricular Activities without any gender disparity.

Discussion about motivational programmes to newly Admitted students about sexual harassment by Guest Lecture or workshop.

All the members of ICC were motivated to participate in Guest Lecture or workshop organized on sexual harassment.
